To collect festival contributions online, email each member who hasn’t paid a secure, one-time contribution link. When they open it they see exactly how much they owe, scan a UPI QR that pays your society’s own UPI ID, then enter the bank transaction reference (UTR) and upload the payment screenshot. The payment arrives in your books marked “unverified” until you match it to your bank statement, so no money moves through Om Kosh, and nothing is trusted blindly.
Why online links beat door-to-door for the last mile
Volunteers can knock on most doors, but there is always a tail, the flat that’s locked, the owner who travels, the member in another city. Chasing that last 20–30% is where committees burn the most time. A self-serve link lets those members pay on their own schedule, from anywhere, without a volunteer standing at the mandap waiting for change.
What the member sees
The link is deliberately simple so a first-time user finishes in under a minute.

- A UPI QR that opens GPay / PhonePe / Paytm and pre-fills the society’s UPI ID
- A box to paste the UTR / transaction reference from their UPI app
- An upload for the payment screenshot as backup proof
- The link expires in 7 days and can only be used once
The payment isn’t “done” until you verify it
This is the important part, and it’s what keeps the books honest. A self-declared payment lands as “unverified”. Nobody gets a valid receipt yet. The treasurer then uploads the bank statement and Om Kosh matches each online payment on UTR and amount, verifies the real ones (issuing the receipt automatically) and flags anything that doesn’t match, a wrong reference, a short payment, or a screenshot that never actually hit the account.
Getting started
Import your member list, set the contribution amount for the festival, and send links to everyone still showing as unpaid. As payments come in, reconcile against your bank statement once or twice a week. You keep manual control, members get convenience, and your final report ties out to the bank to the rupee.
Frequently asked questions
Does Om Kosh take a cut of online contributions?
No. Payments go straight to your society’s own UPI ID, Om Kosh never touches the money and takes no percentage. You only pay a flat yearly plan once your society crosses ₹1,00,000 in collections in a financial year.
Is there a payment gateway?
No. Payments are manual UPI. The member scans a QR that pays your society’s UPI ID directly, then records the UTR. You confirm it against your bank statement before a receipt is issued.
What if a member says they paid but you can’t find it?
The payment stays “unverified” and is flagged during reconciliation. You can email the member for the correct reference or revert the payment to “not paid”, so it never counts toward your total by mistake.
How long is the contribution link valid?
Each link is one-time-use and expires after 7 days. You can re-send a fresh link to anyone who missed the window.
